The Farm Azores is a beautiful, small working dairy farm run by a lovely American-Azorean couple, Gena and João. Our farm tour was a beautiful experience. We were a small group of three and enjoyed a relaxed time with Gena and João, learning about their farm and their aspirations to grow and expand.
Amazing Farm to visit!
It was a unique experience on the farm with a lot of contact with the animals, an incredible experience.
In travel, you hear a lot about "the experience" and "authenticity" but the farm tour with Gena and Joao is truly both. You get to see first hand their life as sustainable dairy farmers in the Azores. You'll ride in the farm truck to meet the teenage cows and see their sustainable grazing practices, see the dairy cows being milked (and learn all their names from Joao!) and try your hand at milking one yourself! An unforgettable experience that I would highly recommend!
Gina and João are wonderful, we had a lovely time on their farm visiting their cows, milking them, eating fresh cheese and jam on their homemade breads. Esp made my son’s day letting him ride on their tractor. A great afternoon experiencing Azorean farm life!
